Teens charged over vandalism and rail crime

TWO teenagers have been charged with a number of offences in relation to overnight vandalism in Godalming in September, as well as a spate of thefts and criminal damage at railway stations in west Surrey.
Samuel Gilbert, 18, of Avondale, Ash Vale, and a 15-year-old from the Godalming area who cannot be named for legal reasons, are jointly accused of?three counts of criminal damage.
The charges include causing more than ￡1,641?of damage to a mobile library owned by Surrey County Council, which was parked behind Godalming Library in Bridge Road when it was vandalised on September 16.
Mr Gilbert has also been charged with a further?10 offences by British Transport Police (BTP) and the 15-year-old with five others.
The pair have been released on bail to appear at Guildford Magistrates' Court on December 8.
