A night of fun and frolic with friends, ended tragically for father of two, Robin Ali, 25, of Goed Fortuin, West Bank Demerara.
Reports reaching this newspaper stated that Ali lost control of his motorcycle, CE 835 and slammed into a light pole some time around 06:30hrs.
The accident happened in the vicinity of the Gafoors Super Center at Houston, East Bank Demerara.
A number of relatives yesterday gathered at his sister’s home at Providence, East Bank Demerara.
One relative said that someone called them shortly after 09:00 hrs, and informed them of the accident.
Ali’s sister, Amina Roza, told this publication that she last saw her brother on Saturday night.? She suggested that the accident probably happened when her brother was heading home.
She explained that the family was having a religious ceremony on Saturday and afterwards her brother left to take his wife and children home.
Roza said that she was told by a few of her brother’s friends that he was partying at the “All Black Party” on Saturday night.
She described her brother as a very easy going and loving person. Ali leaves to mourn his wife, two children, three siblings and his parents.
On Friday last, 12 persons perished in another road accident. The dead were identified as
Oudit Narine Baboolall, Orlando DeMattos ,Talita Mendonca and her two-month-old son, Josiah Khan, Janet Baker , 46-year-old Salima Juman,, Salmaa Razaac ,35-year-old Cindy Jaggernauth, 30-year-old Patricia Asgarally, 38-year-old Chetram Ramphal,? 14-year-old Marquest Ault, and 19-year-old Nazradin Mohinudin, of East Canje Berbice.
Only five persons survived the horrific accident, those were 24-year-old Tamika Fraser, of Kildonan; Sham Jaggernauth, of Nigg; Fiona Paramsook of No. 11 Village, Corentyne; and Anwhatie Singh, who was the conductress of the minibus. She was the driver’s wife.
