M3 bridge death man was mental health patient

A MAN who fell to his death from a bridge over?the M3 close to Chertsey on Wednesday was a patient at a nearby mental health unit, it has been confirmed.

A spokesman for Surrey and Borders Partnership NHS Foundation Trust, which runs the Abraham Cowley unit at St Peter's Hospital, confirmed the victim?had been under their care prior?to Wednesday.

He said: "Surrey and Borders Partnership NHS Foundation Trust offers its sincere condolences to the family.

"The trust is assisting Surrey Police with their inquiries and will be conducting an internal review of the care and support provided."

The M3 was closed for several hours after?the man?fell from Bridge Road, Lyne,?onto the southbound?carriageway of the motorway at 5.15am on Wednesday.

A police?spokesman?said: "Surrey Police is appealing for any witnesses and in particular is asking for any motorists using the motorway in the vicinity of the incident location, between 5am and 5.30am, to contact officers urgently on 0845 125 2222, quoting reference RM/10/7554."

More than 1,500 persons who reside in Good Hope, East Coast Demerara (E.C.D) are currently inconvenienced by contractors working on a main access bridge, commonly referred to as the “Kissoon Bridge”. This bridge was damaged and a contractor had tendered to repair it.
According to the residents, many of them are unhappy since their regular route cannot be accessed due to repair works that are now stalled and “left off”. Vehicles cannot cross the bridge, therefore many of them either have to drive all the way around the village and burn unnecessary fuel or park their vehicles on the Railway Embankment.
One angry resident said that this is the fourth week since construction commenced on the bridge. He said that he is upset that the contractors have only worked nine days and the type of work they are required to do would only require 10 days.
The resident stated that he has seen it with his own eyes and he too, was once a contractor, so he knows about the necessary works that need to be completed.
Some villagers explained that when the work “stalled” and they questioned the contractors, they were told that they were experiencing “money problems” and as such; could not finish the job.
On another occasion, they were told that the contractors “did not have materials to work with”.
When Kaieteur News visited the site yesterday, the bridge was in a deplorable state. A resident from the area stated that the contractors were “Mr. Cush” from Beterverwagting and “Mr. De Souza” from Annandale, East Coast Demerara.
An alternate bridge being utilized by persons who wish to get across from one part to another is almost diminished, and when it rains the route cannot be used.

Tributes left for "legend" killed in a car bridge accident

Messages of condolence and dozens of floral tributes were left at the scene of a Taunton fatal car accident.

Daniel pitchers, who lived locally, died when his Vauxhall Astra crashed at the end of a wall of brick bridge of Ray, Ray Lane, in the early hours of Tuesday 19 and 24.

Car caught fire, but the teams did not sure that there was someone inside until they had extinguished the blaze.

The road has a sharp bends goes on deck, has seen a number of accidents in recent years and Sheila McCrory, owner of the nearby Ray Lodge farm B & B believes that conditions near the scene of the accident driving can be dangerous in the best cases.

She said: "he had a few accidents there in the past."

"Somebody told me that he [Mr. pitchers] went home so perhaps he knew as well road, but there are big things on both sides and it is fairly narrow leading up to the elbow."

"I think it would have been too traffic at the time of the night", she added.

Tributes left the scene was a message from Dr. pitchers, parents who read: "in our bébé.Nous love you so Dan, you light in our lives."We love you and miss you ever.?

Among the flowers and the Cubs, a scarf of Crystal Palace football club was also left.

A single message, simply signed Amy, read: "' I love you and will be toujours.Ne you will never forget." "

Another tribute described Mr. pitchers as a "legend" had a "cheeky smile."

He had worked for several years as a manager at Richmond Bookmakers in Godstone Road, less than a mile from where he died.

A sign has been conditioned to the store, saying: "At the request of the family of Daniel pitchers, we would like to inform all our clients a funeral service will be held at 12 p.m. Monday, November 1 at the Surrey and Sussex Crematorium Crawley, subsequently to the Greyhound in Taunton.Tous pub are welcome."

"As a mark of respect for his family and friends, this workshop will be closed for the day."
