Tributes paid to India hotel balcony plunge victim

A HORLEY?woman who plunged to her death from a hotel balcony in India has been described as "very valued and popular" by her employer.

Doctors surgery?receptionist Sunanda Valand, 37, died after apparently jumping from the sixth floor of the Ramee Guestline Hotel in Mumbai?last Thursday (November 4), the day before she was due to return to the UK.

And Dr Vijay Kumar, senior partner at Birchwood Medical Practice in Kings Road, Horley,?revealed that patients and colleagues were still struggling to come to terms with the devastating news.

“We are all deeply shocked by what happened, but at the moment our thoughts are with her family at this dreadful time,” said Dr Kumar.

“We are all still reeling from the shock of it all. She was a very valued and popular member of staff.”

Mrs Valand had been?in the country on holiday?with her husband Ajay, a security worker at Heathrow Airport, since October 29.

Mr Valand told police his wife had been unhappy in India because of the heat.

Mumbai police inspector Ashok Pimple said: "It is a clear case of suicide and there is no suspicion."

A Foreign Office spokesman said that Mrs Valand's next of kin had been contacted and were receiving support and assistance.

The spokesman?declined to comment on the circumstances surrounding her death.

Tributes left for "legend" killed in a car bridge accident

Messages of condolence and dozens of floral tributes were left at the scene of a Taunton fatal car accident.

Daniel pitchers, who lived locally, died when his Vauxhall Astra crashed at the end of a wall of brick bridge of Ray, Ray Lane, in the early hours of Tuesday 19 and 24.

Car caught fire, but the teams did not sure that there was someone inside until they had extinguished the blaze.

The road has a sharp bends goes on deck, has seen a number of accidents in recent years and Sheila McCrory, owner of the nearby Ray Lodge farm B & B believes that conditions near the scene of the accident driving can be dangerous in the best cases.

She said: "he had a few accidents there in the past."

"Somebody told me that he [Mr. pitchers] went home so perhaps he knew as well road, but there are big things on both sides and it is fairly narrow leading up to the elbow."

"I think it would have been too traffic at the time of the night", she added.

Tributes left the scene was a message from Dr. pitchers, parents who read: "in our bébé.Nous love you so Dan, you light in our lives."We love you and miss you ever.?

Among the flowers and the Cubs, a scarf of Crystal Palace football club was also left.

A single message, simply signed Amy, read: "' I love you and will be toujours.Ne you will never forget." "

Another tribute described Mr. pitchers as a "legend" had a "cheeky smile."

He had worked for several years as a manager at Richmond Bookmakers in Godstone Road, less than a mile from where he died.

A sign has been conditioned to the store, saying: "At the request of the family of Daniel pitchers, we would like to inform all our clients a funeral service will be held at 12 p.m. Monday, November 1 at the Surrey and Sussex Crematorium Crawley, subsequently to the Greyhound in Taunton.Tous pub are welcome."

"As a mark of respect for his family and friends, this workshop will be closed for the day."

Family tributes to best friends are drowned in the Thames

PARENTS were paid tribute to the two best friends who drowned after jumping on the River Thames freeze to save a dog.

Kadir Shillingford bodies 25 and 19 years Ian Coy, who were both Staines, from water, Wednesday and Thursday.

The couple was walking by the River with their dogs to Penton Hook Lock, near Laleham, when an animal in trouble in the water.

As the dog fought against the current, M. Shillingford jumped in to try to save it.

But he was defeated by ice water, which prompted the company M. - a former student at the school in Ashford - go in.

Passers-by could only view with horror that the pair has disappeared under water and failed to resurface.

Mr. Shillingford, body bright rugby player was fired from the Thames River on Wednesday night, a few hours after the tragedy happened.

And Thursday, police divers recovered body of Mr. co. as its devastated family viewed.

A candlelit Vigil was held later by the riverside and flowers have been brought to the scene.

Mr. co., father Andrew, identifying the bodies of his sons.

"It was the thing harder that I never had to do", said the 46-year old.

Mother Collette co., 44 years, added: "Ian lived life pleinement.Il did not think himself threatening, it is just a gut reaction to jump to save her best friend."

"It was the Mummy, a boy and I will always love him."

Friend Francis Jade, 26, said: "they were full of life and so their chiens.Ils came here for some and tranquillité.Je cannot believe it."
