There have been problems reported with USB modems using Verizon Wireless' 3G and 4G LTE networks.? LTE USB modem users have experienced a few minutes' wait while the modem switches to networks.

"Hand-offs can take up to a couple of minutes, but that was expected and a fix is in the works," Verizon spokesman Jeffrey Nelson told Computerworld by email.

Nelson also noted that Verizon is working on drivers for USB modems designed for the LTE network so that they work with Mac computers.??

One 4G LTE modem user reported that unplugging and replugging the modem helped.
