Android an' Droid App Update: Kindle for Android

KindleAndroid.jpgAmazon Kindle book readers with Android and Droid smartphones will be glad to hear that there's a new version of Kindle for Android 2.0.

The update to Kindle for Android has these new features:

  • Read over 100 newspapers and magazines.
  • A native app that doesn't use the browser.
  • Sample and purchase content using an integrated store.
  • Customers can now share book reading progress with social networks.
  • Double tap on images to zoom in.
  • Store app on microSD card.
  • Use volume keys to turn pages instead of screen swiping.
Customers can learn more about the free Kindle for Android reading app at www.amazon.com/kindleforandroid and can download the app from Android Market.

The previous version added orientation lock, search within books, Wikipedia Lookup and other features.
