'Miracle' as de-icing car crush woman resuscitated

A WOMAN was crushed by her own car and?went into cardiac arrest, but was then?saved?when fire crews?pulled the?vehicle away and helped a paramedic resuscitate her.

She was de-icing her Vauxhall Corsa in the Pennyhill Park Hotel car park, off London Road,?Bagshot,?on?Thursday afternoon?(December 9) when it rolled forward on top of her.

Emergency services arrived and, rather than waiting for specialist equipment to lift the car up slowly, five firefighters pulled it off the unconscious woman.

Paramedic Peter Glover?and the fire crew worked on her?for around five minutes, using defibrillators to?restart her pulse and talking?until finally her eyes opened.

Camberley fire station watch manager Dave Medley described her resuscitation as "nothing short of a miracle".

Mr Medley and Mr Glover both visited the woman in Frimley Park Hospital on Friday morning, where she is recovering.

When she was put into the ambulance after regaining consciousness, she asked for Mr Glover, saying: "Where’s my smiley faced man?"
