CROSSBENCH counterpart who claimed that he lived in Reigate so that he could recieve £ Mbé spending night gave a long stay in the House of lords Thursday.

Lord Bhatia told money on the grounds that his main home was a small apartment occupied by his brother in Reigate, although he and his wife were registered on the voters list to address long-standing Hampton, London SW.

Baroness Uddin and Lord Paul labour peer were suspended also after the upper House approved overwhelming judgments of his conduct and privileges Committee.

Lord Bhatia was suspended for eight months and has already paid more than £ 27,000.

Lady Uddin was suspended until the end of the parliamentary session in 2012 and to repay £ 125,349.10 said.

Lord Paul has been suspended for four months and already returned £ 41,982.

Sanctions are the most difficult imposed dysfunctional members for over 300 years.

In case of Lady Uddin and Lord Bhatia, sanctions are significantly heavier than those working members Lord Truscott and Taylor, Lord Blackburn after a lobbying scandal policy last year.

The pair was excluded for about six months and became the first to be suspended from the upper House from the 17th century.

Lady Uddin and Lord Bhatia were found to have acted "not in good faith"by declaring incorrectly main home to claim generous allowances nights."

An initial investigation decided that Lord Paul has also acted "not in good faith in his home designations."

However, the Committee rejected this conclusion on appeal, accepted that, although "totally unreasonable" and "negligence", it was not "dishonest" and had already returned £ 41,982 last year. "

Until the upper House unanimously approve the suspensions, a prominent work peer raised the issue of racial discrimination.
?
Lord Alli said that he was not accusing Lords authorities of racism, but added: "it cannot have escaped your attention that only three members of the House of Commons referred the Committee privileges and conduct thereafter was studied in these procedures were all Asian."

But the leader of House Lord Strathclyde, call for peers to save suspensions, said that the conclusions of the Commission of conduct "fair and just."
?
He added: "I think all three affected peers has dropped from the standard of conduct that the House and the public have the right to expect."
?
"We have as a public deed Chamber décisive.Le expect us to act decisively and unity demonstrate our horror from wrongdoing."
?
"Light only one in this sorry situation is that the House has already taken decisive measures to reform the outdated system of expenditures; from the beginning of October, we introduced a new transparent compensation based on attendance."

Spending abuse center around £ 174 per day allowance that was until very recently, available to the peer whose main focus was on the outside of the M25.

All three also pointed out the travel expenses.
