Teacher suspended for the observation of adult sites

By Ben Endley
25 October 2010.

A teacher who has watched "adult sites" to school on time has been suspended for one year by the Council of general education.

David Lovett - who worked in Nescot College, Epsom and Howard of Effingham in Effingham - is also believed to have visited a site for online dating and commented on a sixth-form pupil.

The speaker of the undertaking was last week, was ordered to undergo recycling on the limits of the staff-student until he is allowed to teach again.

GTC statement said: "it was a serious case of inappropriate behaviour."

"Relations with students in their care raise serious questions about his judgment."

But Donna Patterson, responsible for human resources at the Collège de Nescot - when Mr. Lovett worked briefly in 2008 - insisted that students were never at risk.

She said: "as soon as we become aware of inappropriate comments we suspended and carried out a thorough investigation which resulted in his dismissal."

"He had only worked here a few weeks until we discovered his past."

"He had not said that it was Howard of Effingham when he came we."

"I feel that we have acted as soon as we could and the safety of our students is of the highest priority for us."

Person at Howard of Effingham school could be reached for comment.
