AN EXOTIC dancer has been cleared of attacking a pub owner with a stiletto shoe in Knaphill.

Holly Jaswal, 23, from Brighton, was found not guilty of two counts of causing actual bodily harm at Guildford Crown Court on Thursday, in relation to?an incident at The Crown pub in Knaphill High Street on July 8 last year.

The jury took just under five hours to return unanimous verdicts on both charges following a four-day trial.

Miss Jaswal, who was employed by the agency Angels as an exotic dancer at the venue on the night in question,?had been?accused of attacking landlord David O’Brien and his wife Toni after they told her she was drunk on the job.

She?denied the charges on the grounds of self-defence and?claimed in court that?she was provoked after being racially abused by Mrs O’Brien.

David O’Brien, 43, was left with blood pouring from his right eye while his wife was?knocked unconscious for several minutes during the incident.

The court heard the O’Briens no longer hold the licence to run The Crown pub after a spate of other incidents were reported to police and Woking Borough Council.

In September,?Mr O'Brien?was fined £4,500 at Woking Magistrates' Court for repeatedly playing loud music at the pub.

Owner?Enterprise Inns has now?submitted a new premises licence application to the council with a view to reopening the venue.
